In July, Rick D. Pittman, MD, the Pacific Northwest’s leader in the treatment of venous disease, will join Silver Falls Dermatology.
Dr. Pittman, who has been in private practice at his Salem Vein Center for 28 years, will be moving to our Salem office to offer patients a full complement of vein care.
Since 1989, Rick Pittman, MD has been regarded as the Pacific Northwest’s leader in the treatment of venous disease. These conditions generally fall into two categories – those that require treatment to facilitate circulatory function, and those that are primarily cosmetic.

Dr. Pittman earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from University of Oregon and completed a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland. He was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor of Vascular Surgery at Oregon Health Sciences University and is one of only a small group of physicians to be Board Certified in both Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
In 1991, Dr. Pittman moved to the Willamette Valley and founded the Salem Vein Clinic, the first practice of its kind in Oregon. He was the first physician in the Willamette Valley to use sclerotherapy for the treatment of spider and reticular veins. To date, Dr. Pittman has performed over 20,000 procedures.
