What is a Facial?

A facial is an esthetic treatment to care for your skin. At Silver Falls Dermatology, our team of experts provides an array of facial options to address your individual skin care needs.

Many facials include a combination of cleansing, exfoliation, steaming, extraction, and massage techniques, while others may also include masks, serums, chemical peels, and more. Overall, facials can benefit individuals with a range of skin concerns, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Dull or dry skin
  • Enlarged pores
  • Rough or uneven skin texture
  • Poor skin elasticity
  • And more.

Who is a Good Candidate for a Facial?

Individuals who are looking to care for their skin and/or combat common signs of skin aging can often benefit from a facial. However, if you have an active infection in the treatment area, are undergoing cancer treatment, or are sunburned you should not undergo a facial treatment. What to Expect During a Facial?

Facials are customized to each patient’s individual skincare goals based on a personal consultation and skin analysis. Because each patient’s skin is unique, we create unique facials to meet the needs of your skin to help you reach your anti-aging goals. The process improves overall skin health, removes impurities, and hydrates to improve texture and tone.

Chemical Peels

We also offer chemical peels, which are resurfacing and exfoliating treatments to help achieve a smoother, more youthful-looking complexion. A special chemical solution is applied to the skin to help combat signs of aging such as wrinkles, sun spots, scarring, and more.

After Your Facial

After your facial treatment, there will be no downtime required, so you can feel free to return to your daily activities. Depending on the type of facial you received, we will give you specific aftercare instructions to help ensure you enjoy the best possible results. We advise that you avoid picking at your skin or using abrasive exfoliation for at least 72 hours after your facial and avoid direct heat and prolonged sun exposure for 48 hours after treatment. Most people can receive a facial monthly to continue caring for their skin.
