We are pleased to announce that we have opened a center for research at our Salem location. Clinical trials at Silver Falls Dermatology Center for Research will provide valuable information to help develop new treatments, as well as provide much-needed care to patients who have experienced financial barriers in the past. Participants receive medical care at no cost and may be compensated for their time and travel.
Clinical trials at Silver Falls Dermatology are conducted by Medical Director John Young, MD, a board certified dermatologist. Participants must meet a variety of requirements in order to qualify, and are provided with treatment or medication specific to their condition. The activities of the trial help determine whether a product is safe and effective.
“Participating in a clinical trial is a cost-effective way to get treatment for many conditions,” says Dr. Young. “For example, medication for acne or psoriasis is not always covered by insurance, and the cost can prevent some people from seeking care.” Participation in a clinical trial is voluntary, and care is provided at no cost.
We are currently conducting a clinical trial for acne, and are seeking participants ages 9 and older. For more information or to see if you qualify, call 503-362-8385. Several trials are planned for the coming months including treatments for atopic dermatitis and psoriasis.
Silver Falls Dermatology Center for Research is located at 1793 13th Street SE in Salem.
